Collider Accelerator is an intensive three month Program based in Brisbane, Australia which commences on 29 April, 2019. The Program is designed for creative tech startups across all sectors: fashion, music, design, digital media, gaming, marketing and immersive technologies. At the conclusion of the Program, an optional two months is made available to further support the commercialisation of products and services and business growth. Collider is unique in Australia for the amount of advisory and operational support companies can access. The Program is designed and delivered by QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, which has been developing creative tech ventures for over a decade.
Founders will be coached by industry-leading mentors and will learn from domain specialists from across the globe while being surrounded by a like-minded creative community. The Program is driven by an Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) with additional specialist EiRs with expertise in global business, product development and with commercial acumen. An extensive list of domestic and international startup experts also contribute as facilitators and mentors.
Each week has a specific topic of focus to guide founders through early stage startup growth. A combination of learning environments and techniques are utilised, including masterclasses, workshops, one-on-one mentor sessions as well as a range of industry events.
As part of Collider accelerator, companies receive pre-seed investment of $30,000 in exchange for 4% equity.
The Program culminates in a Demo Day. Founders will pitch to an esteemed panel of judges and an audience of industry partners, customers, investors and supporters of the startup ecosystem.

Getting the most out of Collider:
Collider Accelerator is best suited for startups that have at minimum a working prototype. That is, a Minimal Viable Product or MVP. Founders may have paying customers or strong validation from an initial pool of users.
To be eligible for the Program, founders must demonstrate how their startup fits within the creative tech, i.e. are you working on an innovative technology or business model that is related to an aspect of the creative industries?
Collider targets startup founders who are willing to commit to the Program and leverage the opportunity to further the growth and development of their teams and businesses.
The application process:
Each cohort of Collider has a limited participation of 10 companies. The process to receive an offer for a place in Collider is competitive. It includes an online application and an in-person one-day selection bootcamp.
Applications for Collider Accelerator are accepted through Metabeta, an online platform for accelerators. Founders are required to create a profile for their company, which includes inviting team members to contribute to building the profile. As part of the startup profile, founders will be guided through a short pitch. Afterwards, there will be a few Program specific questions. That’s it!
For those who may be unsure, Collider encourages founders to open an application early. There is no formal commitment until the Program Agreement, provided at selection bootcamp, is agreed to.
Fast track your startup in 2019 with Collider Accelerator. Applications closed.
What is Creative Tech?
Creative tech touches our lives every day.
Creative tech is a growing sub-sector of creative industries, which focuses on creativity and the arts with technology being used to support scalable business models. As an industry that brings innovation, creativity and enterprise together, creative technology is connecting our physical and digital worlds in completely new ways.
Creative tech is a highly disruptive industry that is at the forefront of cross-cutting business models across fashion, screen, advertising, product design, digital media, multimedia, games, computing, robotics, engineering and electronics. From wearables to personalisation, virtual marketplaces and the emergence of multi-sensory experiences, we are only just beginning to realise the potential of this new style of tech adoption.
Creative technology differs from established uses of technology to automate processes or handle large volumes of data. In creative technology, a creative element - such as the use of design, storytelling, audio-visual material or performance - is the key constituent alongside the technical component in achieving the final output and its desired benefits.
Developing creative tech fields include augmented reality, virtual reality, programmatic branding, creative robotics, immersive technologies and the application of interactivity to markets in performance and experience.
